Sharat G. Lin is a research fellow at the San José Peace and Justice Center. He writes and lectures on global political economy, labor migration, social movements, and the Middle East. He has lived in Saudi Arabia.

Ron Garret is a software engineer by trade. He is currently working on easy-to-use-cryptography software. He was a co-founder and CTO of Virgin Charter, and an early hire at Google. Green Civil War Over Utility-Scale Solar Power

Join us this Sunday as we hear from Dustin Mulvaney, associate professor in Environmental Studies at San Jose State University. We’ll be learning about the potential environmental impacts of new energy technologies and how California might achieve low carbon energy while preserving biodiversity.

Prof. Mulvaney will also discuss some ideas from his new book “Solar Power Innovation, Sustainability, and Environmental Justice” (see https://www.ucpress.edu/book/9780520288171/solar-power). He will have some copies of his book for sale after his talk.
