Ever wanted to learn to make video games, but never had the means or know where to start? Or, have you always wanted to learn to program computers but all those other tutorials are too boring?

Unity 3d is the premier cross platform game engine (the thing you use to make games). You can make games for the Mac, PC, Android, iPhone and even VR systems like Oculus Rift. Unity is free for personal use, and comes with a number of video tutorials for beginners.
This is a study group/support group for learning Unity 3d through the Unity Tutorials. We can break into groups based on which tutorial people are on. If you haven’t started yet, we will have a group for total beginners. Let’s work together and help each other become game making experts.
While some experience with computer programming is helpful, the Unity tutorials start at the beginner level with no programming experience expected.
Please bring your own computer and have Unity 3d already installed. We can’t have everyone at the event downloading the program all at the same time. You can download Unity 3d for free at: unity3d.com Click the “Get Unity Now” button, then choose download now under Personal for the free version.
Things to bring to the event:
1. Computer – probably should be a laptop. We will have power strips set up at a few tables.
2. Headphones – Many people at the event are watching tutorial videos. If it is your first time, we will start you off on a tutorial video. Please bring headphones so you can listen to the videos without disturbing your neighbors.
3. Mouse – While you can do all of the tutorials using only the trackpad on your laptop, a mouse makes life much easier.
