In fact, the Bible clearly lays out God\u2019s primary qualities: jealous, petty, unforgiving, bloodthirsty, vindictive, and worse.<\/p>\n<p>Come join this tour through the Bible, guided by Freedom From Religion Foundation co-president (and former minister) Dan Barker, as laid out in his book, <a href=\"https:\/\/ffrf.org\/product\/god\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><i>God: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After meeting God \u2014 as portrayed in His own words, some would say \u2014 you might well run the other way. Dan did.<\/p>\n<p>THIS IS THE SECOND of five stops on <a href=\"https:\/\/ffrf.org\/outreach\/events\/january-10-24-2026-meet-ffrf-co-president-dan-barker-on-his-western-tour-this-january-washington-california-and-utah\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dan Barker&#8217;s Western Tour<\/a> in January, with events in Olympia WA, San Francisco CA, Palo Alto CA, Sacramento CA, and Salt Lake CIty UT. On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/humanistcommunity\/events\/312555561\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">January 18 in Palo Alto<\/a>, enjoy an unusual opportunity for casual conversation with Dan and a recital of his secular songs.<\/p>\n<p>HOSTED BY the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfbayffrf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">San Francisco Bay Chapter, Freedom From Religion Foundation<\/a>.
