What can we learn from history? What is different this time? And most importantly, what can we do, individually and collectively, to save and improve democracy?<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Our speaker, Michael Abramson, will provide an overview of theories and models of political change. HIs slides are here: <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1SUSX-C1gN0T6js63tfLO9kPELdenCzDEElOX8ygzxPg\/edit#slide=id.p\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Political Dynamics and the Future of Democracy<\/a>.&nbsp;It\u2019s a work in progress, they will likely change before, during, and after our discussion. They already included comments from<span class=\"gmail_default\"> a<\/span> recent discussion<span class=\"gmail_default\"> of this topic<\/span> at humanists@UUCPA, and your discussion comments and ideas will be incorporated as well. As a result, it will be a summary of our collaborative deliberation, not just the presenter&#8217;s point of view.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Feel free to review the slides by clicking the link above<span class=\"gmail_default\"> and to e<\/span>xplore the references that you find interesting. Such pre-meeting research will only enrich our discussion.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"gmail_signature\" dir=\"ltr\" data-smartmail=\"gmail_signature\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><strong>Speaker&#8217;s bio:<\/strong>&nbsp;Michael&#8217;s area of expertise is system modeling and simulation. Most of his work was related to technical and engineering applications, ranging from electromagnetics and radiation transfer to fluid and gas flows and air traffic control systems.
