2:30 Table Mountain Upper Stevens Creek County Park
This 1,095 acre Santa Cruz mountain redwood park offers a wilderness experience for visitors interested in the park's mature stands of Douglas fir and redwoods. The park is also popular with mountain bicyclists and for its 11 miles of long hiking trails and valley vistas. This park offers lush, densely wooded trails for a variety of users. The unique combination of recreational resources and natural beauty make Upper Stevens Creek County Park a magnet for hikers, bicyclists, equestrians, and nature lovers. We will walk the 4.3 mile loop through dense woods to a grand overlook of the Santa Clara Valley at Table Mountain. Be sure to wish your leader a "Happy 80th Birthday" (whose birthday is really the following day).

OSP = Open Space Preserve

StP = State Park

P = parking is limited, therefore you must contact Bill Rausch so that he can arrange carpools. [Carpooling may be appropriate even when mark is not present.]

For all hikes: Wear boots or hiking shoes, clothing weight appropriate to the weather, long sleeves if you need extra protection from insects; carry water (no food unless explicitly permitted).

If an event is on Sunday afternoon, we will leave the Palo Alto Student Center at 1:30 after the Forum and lunch to arrive at the trailhead (at approximately 2:30 or 3:00 as noted).

During the rainy season, our hikes will go in light rain showers, but steady rain cancels.
