to underscore our emphasis on families, not just the children.)
We offer a nondogmatic, nonstressful, fun way to learn about
people and relationships while the adults are doing their thing
in our Sunday Forums.
We are pleased by the response to our offering, and parents are pleased
with their children’s safety, enjoyment, and educational needs being
answered by us.
For younger children:
The emphasis is on fun, with stories, crafts, and games.
Some children may be too young to be comfortable without their parents;
parents are typically part of the gathering.
Often our kids learn about people, healthy relationships,
and ethical behavior as a side benefit.
For older children:
There is exposure to more mature subject matter, e.g. philosophy,
history, and humanism, at an appropriate level,
all respecting their right to decide things for themselves.
Indoctrination is not part of our temperament.
No pre-registration is required. Bring your children to the site of our Sunday Forum (map) before the announced starting time of the Family Program and we will guide you to its meeting place.
Our Family Program has received national attention by Time magazine and (ABC) Nightline.
- Nightline, March 28, 2008:
- their preview video, broadcast that afternoon
- the full story (not a video)
- Check with our Executive Director, 650-964-7576, to see if you can view the video (it’s less than 15 min. long).
- Time magazine has an article (dateline Nov 21, 2007). Although they refer to it as an "atheist Sunday school", they don't claim that we are indoctrinating our kids in atheism. Our Family Program is dogma-free, concentrating on life issues and ethical behavior.
